Change of frame tubes

Had a call from Mercian Cycles today, seems I'm too heavy (not fat, cheeky:-)) for the tubes that will make my frame.
I specified oversize Reynolds 725 tubes for my frame but it now seems I can't have those with the fancy lugs (bits connecting the tubes) I ordered. Compromised on Reynolds 853 tubes which are stiffer but handle weight better.

• Downside is that the ride will be less forgiving than anticipated (bike will absorb less of the rattle in the road).
• Upside is that although these tubes are more expensive, Mercian will reduce the payable price by half the difference between what I had ordered, and what I will get. This means I get the tubes I probably should have had, for less than list price :-)
