A mad dash through the kind of rain that one can fish in, ended with a strong south-easterly wind that would strip the paint from your window-sills and sunshine that would be hot if the wind allowed it to settle.
The wind played a major part in hastening my 55 mile (av. 14.7mph) journey to the ferry and if I can get to Stornaway tonight, I will have the thrilling prospect of a 6am ferry to Ullapool tomorrow morning.
I have yet to work out how far to travel to Ullapool!
